This course specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate an order picking forklift truck safely. Order picking forklift truck means a forklift truck where the operator controls are incorporated with the lifting media and elevate with the lifting media.
Licensed order picker operators are highly sought after in the transport and logistics industry. The Order Picker is a specialised machine used to reach to heights of up to 10 metres. The operator stands on a platform surrounded by guard rails whilst attached to a harness. The operator is raised and lowered as the platform is lifted.

Course information:
This program is delivered face-to-face. There are four (4) components to this program:
- Pre-study reading – learner guide will be provided upon booking
- Theory training in the classroom
- Practical training
- Assessment of knowledge and skills.

Course Outcome:
On successful completion of this program, students will receive a Statement of Attainment via email for the nationally recognised unit TLILIC0004 Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck. Students will also receive a Worksafe Notice of Assessment (NOA) which must be lodged electronically via a myworksafe account (https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/login) or in person at the post office along with the WorkSafe application fee within 60 days of issue. Following this process, your High Risk Work Licence will be issued by WorkSafe Victoria.

- You must hold and bring valid and current Government issued photo identification (ID). Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Current Passport
- Current Australian Driver Licence, Learner Permit or Boat Operator’s Licence
- Current Keypass
- Proof of Age Card
- You must reside in Victoria to undertake High Risk Work Licensing in Victoria. If your photo identification does not have your usual Victorian home address you will be required to provide proof of your Victorian residence (for example, a utility or phone bill or other official document with your Victorian home address).
- You must wear steel capped safety boots
- You must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English to be appropriate for entry to this course. You must also have intermediate mathematical skills including the ability to calculate area, dimension, loads and mass. Should you have any concerns regarding your capability, please contact us immediately to schedule a pre-training interview where a language, literacy and numeracy assessment will be conducted.
- This course requires the student to wear a harness complying with AS/NZS 1891.1-2007. The maximum weight rating of the harness available onsite is 160kg. Should you exceed this weight rating or be unable to fit into an extra-large harness, you will be required to supply your own in-date harness complying with AS/NZS 1891.1-2007.
