This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate a roller to compact material.
This unit applies to those working in site based roles.
This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.

Who is this course designed for?
Our roller training and assessment course is for people with no previous experience operating this type of machinery.
Course units include:
- Plan and prepare roller operations
- Operate roller in line with established requirements to complete work activity
- Prepare to relocate the roller
- Conduct housekeeping activities
- Carry out vehicle refuelling requirements and procedures where applicable
- Apply safe work practices, identifying and reporting all potential hazards, risks and environmental issues
- Apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques when operating equipment
- Monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- Identify common equipment faults

Course cost $999.00
*NOTE: Should the required level of competency not be achieved, additional training days will be needed and charged at $350 per day
- Requirements Students must have valid photo ID (driver’s licence or passport)
- Students must wear steel capped boots
- Requirements Successful students will receive an industry recognised competency ticket
