CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
This program is delivered face-to-face. There are three (3) components to this program:
- Theory training in the classroom
- Practical activities
- Assessment of knowledge and skills.

- Legislative framework overview of the OHS Act
- Key responsibilities key regulations
- Relevant codes of practice
- Differences between regulations and codes
- How to access legislation
- Penalties of non-compliance
- Site safety essential elements of OHS
- Safety signage
- Emergency and evacuation
- Personal protective equipment
- Accidents and incidents
- First aid accident and incident reporting
- Alcohol and drug policy
- Hazards consequences of lack of risk control
- Working at heights including scaffolding
- Hazardous substances and dangerous goods electrical safety fire prevention
- Manual handling
- Noise
Course Duration: 1 day
Course Outcome:
On successful completion of this program, students will receive a Statement of Attainment via email for the nationally recognised unit CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. Additionally, Foresite will notify Worksafe that you have completed this program following which, your Whitecard will be issued by WorkSafe Victoria.

- Applicants must hold and bring valid and current Government issued photo identification (ID). Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Current Passport
- Current Australian Driver Licence, Learner Permit or Boat Operator’s Licence
- Current Keypass
- Proof of Age Card
- Applicants must wear steel capped safety boots
- Applicants must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English to be appropriate for entry to this course.
